Donyi Poloism: This religion is followed by major tribal groups like Adis, Apatanis, Miris and Nishis who claim their origin come from their ancestor Abo Tani. The main deities of the followers of this religion are Kine Nane, Doying Bote, Gumin Soyin, Dadi Bote and Pedong Nane. These mythical deities are the protectors of the Harvests, Home, Life and natural resources.
Buddhism: After Donyi Poloism, Buddhism is followed by large number of people. Tibetan Buddhism is mainly practiced by tribes living near the Tibetan border and Theravada Buddhism is practiced by tribal groups of Thai-Burmese Khampti, Singpho, Zekhring and Chakma refugees living in Lohit, Changlang and Tirap. Monpa and Sherdukpen populations of Tawang and West Kameng followed this religion. Neighboring tribes like Miji and Khowa are also influenced by Theravada Buddhism. A significant proportion of the Buddhists in Arunachal Pradesh claim to be Tibetan refugees.
Christianity: According to the census Christians accounted approx 18% population of Arunachal Pradesh. It has been increasingly promoted by missionaries.
