Valanoor Coorg: Valanoor place is a perfect destination of Karnataka. It is 30 Km from Mercara which is the backwaters of Cauvery. The place is a home to a exquisite variety of fishes like Marsheer,Maral, Maap and many more which are worth of a catch.
Harangi Dam Coorg: A beautiful picnic spot located about 36 km from Madikeri Kushlanagar Road is Harangi Dam built on Harangi River forms a huge water reservoir that is an ideal place to visit on Weekend picnics, lunches or for leisurely stroll.
Durbare Coorg: Lies on the banks of Krishna River is situated an Elephant training and capturing camp Durbare. It is a big bath tub for elephants that rests here after long day’s work.the captivating picturesque beauty of the place along with herds of elephants lures a large number of tourists. Visitors can even enjoy elephant rides at a nominal price.
Central Orange and Coffee Research Station Coorg: This research center is located on the Madikeri-Siddapur-Virajpet road. It is about 24 km from Madikeri, the district headquarters of Coorg. The best time to visit this research center is during March and April when coffee blossom throughout the Coorg.
Chicklihole Dam in Coorg near Suntikoppa Coorg: Chicklihole reservoir is located between Madikeri and Kushalnagar which is 15 Km from Coorg near to Dubare. The dam is not among the best of picnic spots but it is nice and calm picnic spot where the visitors can enjoy sunsets amidst the Kaveri River and greenery around. The best time to visit this place is during the monsoon and winters between June to December.
