Description: The second smallest Indian Union Territory is Daman and Diu, positioned on the west coast. It has two distinct areas topography wise positioned situated inside Gujarat. Daman shares its proximity to Vapi town in southern Gujarat, whereas, Diu shares its immediacy with Junagarh, located in the Saurashtra cape of Gujarat. Earlier, Daman and Diu were the integral part of the Portuguese regions in India, but declared as the separate Union Territory in 1987. Above and beyond, Daman is segregated by the Damanganga River into two parts and is also renowned for its double fortresses the Nani Daman and the Moti Daman.
