Location
Quiet, serene and beautiful hill station of Kalimpong is located in the Indian state of West Bengal on the Bhutan-Tibet-Sikkim border on the eastern part of Darjeeling Himalayas. Located at an elevation of 1,250 m above the sea level the town is the head quarters of the Kalimpong subdivision is the part of Darjeeling district. The unexplored wonderland is crowned with snow clad mountains, exotic flowers orchids and alpine weather with river Teesta flows through it altogether creates a refreshing environment for the visitors. Sight Seeing in Kalimpong
Durpin Dara: Situated just a walking distance from Kalimpong town, Durpin Dara is situated at an altitude of 1,402 m from where the whole Jalapla Pass, Chola Range, Tiger hill of Darjeeling, Kanchenzonga Range can be seen on a clear day. Durpin Dara is the highest point in Kalimpong accessible by car and offers a finest view of the plains and the mighty River Teesta.
Army Golf Club: The Army Golf club is one of the important tourist attractions of Kalimpong. It is a nine hole golf course and offers an excellent place for photography. This heavenly peaceful place also offers the scenic visuals of the surroundings and Durpin Monstery.
Crockety: Crockety is also a must visit place on a tour to Kalimpong. It is one of the colonial bungalows of British Raj during their rule in India. Built in 18th century the bungalow is opened for public viewing.
Lava: Lava is a small quaint village which is 34 km from Kalimpong at an altitude of 2,350 m above the sea level. The village remains hidden almost all round the year due to mist and clouds and is one of the oldest known trade routes to neighboring Bhutan. It is also the starting point for the trekking to the Neora National Park which is famous for its exotic flora and fauna.
Samco Ropeway: Samco Ropeway is situated at a distance of 20 Km from Kalimpong on the highway that leads to Siliguri. Spreading across one and half km the Samco Ropeway lies between the Teesta and Relli Rivers. It is an adventurous and thrilling ride situated at the height of 120 ft above the river.
Teesta Bazaar: The main bazaar of Kalimpong town is named after Teesta River. The day to shop at this bazaar is Wednesday and Saturday. The bazaar has a display of local handicrafts, clothes, fruits, vegetables, foot wears and other items.
Thongsa Gompa (Bhutanese Monastery): Thongsa Gompa is one of the oldest Gompa of Kalimpong that was built during the Bhutanese period in 1630. The monastery was completed in 1692 and is still preserved well in Kalimpong. Mask dance ceremony is performed here thrice a day and is open for public viewing through out the day.

By Rail: The nearest railway stations to Kalimpong is Siliguri Junction situated at a distance of 68 km and New Jalpaiguri which is at a distance of 77 km it.
By Road: The hill resort of Kalimpong is well connected by surface network to Darjeeling and Gangtok. North Bengal State Transport Corporation and private operators run frequent bus services to Kalimpong.
