Location
Kasauli is situated at an altitude
of 1,927 m above sea level in the
state of Himachal Pradesh. it lies
along the first high ridge of the
foothills of the Himalayas. It is
the first hill station on the way
to Shimla hills. Kasauli is at a distance
of 77 km from Shimla,15 km from Dharampur,64
km from Chandigarh and 35 km from
Kalka.
Sight Seeing
The highest point of Kasauli is called
Monkey Point only 4 km from the Kasauli
Bus Station. You can have the superb
view of the distant plains of Chandigarh
and the river Satluj. A small temple
is on the top of the hill is dedicated
to Lord Hanuman. There is a popular
legend that when Lord Hanuman was
returning from the Himalayas with
the Sanjivani Booty or the Magical
Herb,his foot touched the hill. The
top of the hill thus is in a shape
of a foot. Sanawar,6 km from Kasauli
is famed for the Lawrence School,is
almost one hundred-years-old and a
major attraction of the town. Situated
on the National Highway No.22,Dharampur
is 15 km from the town of Kasauli.

Kalka-Shimla Railway Line also connects
it. Subathu is a little cantonment
town,where you can see the Gurkha
Fort built in the early years of the
19th century at an altitude of 1,437

located at an altitude of 1,925 m.
it is 19-km from Kasauli and can be
reached by the link road,which diverts
from Dharampur.

By Air: The nearest airport
to Kasauli is at a distance of 77
km at Jubbarhati in Shimla. Direct
flights from Delhi are available on
alternate days.
By Rail: The nearest railhead
is at Kalka at a distance of 35 km.
By Road: Kasauli is well connected
by surface network with Shimla,Dharampur,Chandigarh
and Delhi.
