Location
Srinagar is located on the western part of Kashmir valley and is the capital of northernmost Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. Situated in the Kashmir valley at an elevation of 1,730 m above the sea level the hill station of Srinagar is located on the banks of River Jhelum a tributary of the Indus that runs through the city and the valley and emptying in the Wular Lake.
