Location
Yercaud lies at an altitude of 1,500
m above the sea level in the Shervaoyan
Hills. At a distance of 33 km from
Salem, Yercaud is situated in the
state of Tamil Nadu.
Sight Seeing
Yercaud Lake in idyllic surroundings
of lush green forests where you have
the pleasure of boating. The Summer
Festival is held every year near the
lake in the month of May. The Anna
Park, close to the Yercaud Lake, is
right for children because of the
swings and slides for them to enjoy.
The waterfall of Killiyur falls from
the height of 300 ft and looks refreshing.
The local tribes venerate the Temple
of Shervaoyan in the Shervaoyan Hills.
An annual festival is held at the
temple premises. The Lady's Seat is
popular for the view of the Western
Ghats. The other places to visit are
the Gent's Seat, Pagoda Point, the
Grange, Bear's Cave and Montfort School.
