Tourist Attractions in Kasauli:
Monkey Point (4 km)
Named after Rishi Man-ki who is believed to have been a great devotee of Lord Hanuman, Monkey Point is among the most popular tourist attractions in Kasauli. Legend states that the Rishi was an avid worshipper of Lord Hanuman and years later, a temple dedicated to the Lord was built at the place that came to be known as Monkey Point. It is also the highest point in the town from where you can enjoy spectacular views of the lush green Chandigarh plains and River Satluj. The area now comes under the Air Force domain and hence tourists are not allowed to carry personal belongings, camera etc for security reasons.
Baba Balak Nath Temple (3 km)
Located atop the Graner Hill, the temple is among the largely visited Kasauli tourist attractions. Built in the name of Sidh Baba Balak Nathji, the temple speaks of an interesting legend. It is believed that the temple was built by one Vijay Kumar, a resident of the area after Baba Balak Nathji himself appeared in his dream and ordered him to build a temple. Baba Balak Nath Temple commands immense belief among people from far and wide, particularly childless couples who come to the temple from different parts of the country to seek the blessings of the saint. The baptism ceremony is also then conducted at the temple itself.
Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir
A popular shrine in Kasauli, the temple lies barely half a kilometer away from Garkhal. It was built by Sai Sudha Trust in the year 1989 and houses a striking idol of Sai Baba. A large number of Sai devotees from far and wide visit the temple to seek the blessings of Sai Baba.
There are some other major tourist attractions in Kasauli too that are well worth a visit. One is a magnificent old church at the Upper Mall Road in Kasauli that reflects the grandeur of the colonial times.
