Communication in Kerala is not a problem as the people of the state are literate and can well converse either in their official language which is Malayalam or if an outsider comes who does not understand Malayalam, they will certainly not mind speaking in English and Tamil with him. Their official language, Malayalam also forms its basis from Dravidian group of languages and around 90% inhabitants of the state prefer to speak Malayalam which has further got 5 regional dialects. Whether it is Malayalam, Tamil or English, all are frequently sprinkled with words from Latin, Sanskrit, Urdu, etc. owing to the frequent coming and going of people from foreign countries.
So, if you are not a Keralite, then do not refrain yourself from going to Kerala as English and other mentioned above languages will help you to communicate with the natives of the state and thus solve your problem.
