Thiruvananthapuram, formerly known as Trivandrum is the capital city of Kerala that provides an excellent base to explore the interiors of Kerala. Padmanabha Swamy Temple: It is among the Thiruvananathapuram tourist attractions. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple was built in Dravidian style along with exquisite carvings that adorn this magnificent seven tired tower. This eye catching landmark is an icon for the city.
Napier Museum: This is the 19th century art and natural history museum. The museum was established in 1855 which was demolished in 1874 and a new building was laid. The new building was named after Lord Napier the Governor of Madras. The museum houses rare collection of archaeological and historic artifacts, coins, ornaments, ivory carvings and art work from Raja Ravi Verma, Nicholas and Roerich. The museum also holds a Zoological Garden which is one of the oldest in India is among the major tourist attractions of Trivandrum.
