Pallikkunnu Church: A famous pilgrimage center of North Kerala is situated at a distance of 14 Km from Kalpetta. This is a Latin Catholic Church in the name of “Our Lady of Lourdes”. The church was built by a French Priest Fr. Jefreno in 1908. The festival is celebrated in the month of February from 2nd to 18th with the grand celebrations on 10th and 11th.
Kuruva Island: Sprawling across 950 acres of naturally blessed green vegetation Kuruva Island is situated 17 Km to the East of Mananthavady. It lies on the tributaries of the river Kabani and is a fabulous picnic spot. Though the island is isolated but it is a home to various uncommon species of birds, herbs and orchids. It is a worth visiting place on a sightseeing trip from Wayanad.
Pakshipathalam: Situated at an altitude of 1740 m above the sea level this place is very near to Kuruva Islands. Pakashipathalam offers a great opportunity for bird watching. A cave which is used by the saints for meditation is a major tourist attraction of this place. A prior permission from Forest department is necessary to visit Pakashipathalam. It is one of the challenging avenues for trekking and is a worth visiting place to see.
Lakkidi: Lakkidi is the gateway of Wayanad district of Kerala. It receives the second highest degree of rainfall in the world and is one of the highest locations in Wayanad. At a distance of 58 Km from Kozhikode Lakkidi is situated 700 m above the sea level atop the Thamarassery Ghat. Pookot Lake the natural fresh water lake, Vythiri the nearest town to Lakkidi, Chain tree are some of the nearest places to Lakkidi are the worth visiting places on a sight seeing trip from Wayanad.
