Most of the Jharkhand state lies on the Chota Nagpur Plateau. It is carved out of Southern part of Bihar state and borders with Bihar on North, Orissa on South, Uttar Pradesh and Chattisgarh on the West and West Bengal on the East. The weather of Jharkhand fluctuates in great deals through out the year. The climate is of tropical nature with hot and humid summers and cold winters. The weather of Jharkhand is soothing and sometimes its scorching heats make the life of people uncomfortable and awkward. The summer starts from the month of April and lasts till July with the temperature hovering around 44 ļC. The blistering summers make the way for monsoons in the form of robust storm birthed from Bay of Bengal. The rain starts from the end of June or in the beginning of July till September. The spine chilling winter season starts from November and lasts till February. December is the chilliest month with a considerable drop in the temperature.
