Nagaland is the far northeastern state of India that shares borders with Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh. Christianity is the predominant religion of the state which is followed by 90.02 % people of the state. Along with Mizoram and Meghalaya it is one of the three Christian majority states of India. Nagaland is known as predominantly as the Baptist state in the world with Baptist as the predominant group constituting more than 75% stateís population. Roman Catholics, Revivalists and Pentecostals are the other Christian sect. in the state. Catholics dominates Kohima, Dimapur and Wokha districts of Nagaland. Hinduism and Islam are the minority religions practiced by 7.5 and 1.8% people of the state. About 0.3 % people of Nagaland practice traditional religions and are concentrated in Paren and eastern regions of the state. Nagaland is mainly a tribal state and each tribe has its own unique culture, tradition, rituals and deity. Some local indigenous inhabitants still follow the ancient religion of Animism. They worship their ancestors who they believe will help them from any kind of difficult predicament. All villages of Nahgaland wear a decorative look on the special festive occasion that represents their uniqueness.
