Mt. Kailash situated at an elevation of 6,750 m above the sea level is on the north of Himalayan barrier. It is a spiritual center for four religions namely Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Tibetan. Over the centuries pilgrims have constantly journeyed long distances with great faith and devotion to achieve enlightenment or cleanse themselves of sins. The base camp for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra held at Charchula which is located at an altitude off 4700 m and distance of 120 km from Mount Kailash. The other camps of the entire trek are the Pangu, Sirkha, Gala, Budhi, Gunji, Kuti, Jollingkong and Adi Kailash.
