Day 01: Arrive at Chennai
South India Rail Tour starts with arrival at Chennai railway station where our representative meets you and escorts you to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 02: Chennai
Leave for a post breakfast sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram, two must visit temple towns in South India tour packages. Witness the spectacular beauty of the seven pagodas at Mahabalipuram and also visit the ancient Dravidian temples carved from rock. Return to the hotel for night stay.
Day 03: Chennai
On day 03 of Rail Tour to South India, we take you on a half-day sightseeing tour of Chennai. After breakfast, proceed to the museum and visit the Art and Bronze Gallery here. Later visit the flower and fruit market, High Court, Fort Museum, Marina Beach, Santhome Cathedral and Snake Park. At noon, check out from the hotel and later in the evening, drive to the railway station to board onward train to Madurai. Overnight stay on board.
Day 04: Madurai
You arrive at Madurai station in the morning and our representative escorts you to the hotel. Relax during the day and spend the night at the hotel.
Day 05: Madurai – Cochin
The port city Cochin is the next destination in your South India Rail Tour. Check out from hotel after breakfast and transfer to Cochin by road. Stop by at the traditional villages of Kerala that lie on the way and upon arrival, check in to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 06: Cochin - Bangalore
Leave for a city sightseeing tour after breakfast. Later, drive to the railway station to board onward train to Bangalore, the next destination in the tour to South India by train.
Day 07: Bangalore
Arrive at Bangalore in the morning and head straight to the hotel where you would be served breakfast. Proceed for a city sightseeing tour and stay for the night at the hotel.
Day 08: Bangalore – Mysore
Check out from hotel in the morning and transfer to Mysore by road. Upon arrival, check in to hotel and spend the night here.
Day 09: Mysore
The princely town of Mysore is the last stopover in your train travel to South India. We take you on a full day city sightseeing tour after breakfast. Start with the magnificent
Maharaja Palace and then proceed to the
Art Gallery. Later visit the ancient
Chamundeshwari Temple perched atop the Chamundi Hill. Stop by at
Nandi Bull for a short visit while returning to the hotel. Remaining day at leisure and overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Mysore – Chennai
Breakfast at the hotel and morning at leisure. Later in the day, drive to the railway station to board onward train to Chennai. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel for night stay.
Day 11: Chennai
South India Rail Tour ends today and you check out from the hotel to proceed to the airport where you board onward flight back home.
