Day 01:- Arrive at New Delhi
North India Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour begins with arrival at New Delhi where you will be received by one of the representative of Indian Horizons and transferred to the pre-booked hotel. After some rest enjoy a visit to amazing attractions of Delhi that include visiting the lanes of Old Delhi that reminds you of the rich cultural heritage of Delhi. Visit the Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Humayun’s Tomb, Qutub Minar, Parliament House, India Gate etc. In the evening enjoy shopping at happening markets of Delhi and then return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 02:- New Delhi- Lucknow- Sravasti
Next morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed towards Airport to board a flight for Lucknow. Upon arrival, one of our representatives helps you to drive towards Sravasti, the capital city of the ancient kingdom of Kosala. It is sacred to Buddhists because here Lord Buddha confounded his critics with a million fold manifestation of himself. Upon arrival, check into the pre-booked hotel and after refreshing, visit the popular attractions of Sravasti that include the Anand Bodhi Tree, Jetavana and Shobhanath Temple. Return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03:-Sravasti- Lumbini
Next day after morning breakfast drive towards Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. It is 225 Km from Sravasti and a UNESCO World Heritage site as well. Upon arrival, check into the pre-booked hotel. Enjoy rest of the day exploring monasteries at leisure. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04:- Lumbini- Kushinagar
After morning breakfast proceed for the sightseeing tour of Lumbini and visit the places like Maya Devi Temple, Great Drigung Kagyud Lotus Temple, Lumbini Museum, Ashoka Pillar, World Peace Pagoda, Royal Thai Buddhist Monastery etc. In the evening drive towards Kushinagar which is situated at a distance of about 142 Km from Lumbini. Day 05:-Kushinagar- Patna
Post breakfast visit the major attractions of Kushinagar which is a major Buddhist pilgrimage center where Gautam Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana. Visit the major attractions of Kushinagar which include Mahaparinirvana Temple, Kushinagar Museum, Ramabhar Stupa etc. After lunch drive towards Patna which is 280 Km from Kushinagar, Upon arrival, check into the pre-booked hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 06:- Patna- Nalanda- Rajgir- Bodhgaya
After breakfast proceed towards the twin towns of Buddhist Pilgrimage, Nalanda and Rajgir. Nalanda is located at a distance of 95 Km southeast of Patna near the town of Bihar Sharif . Visit its major attractions that include Nalanda University, Tara Maa Mandir, Mian Talab, Shiva Mandir etc. In the afternoon proceed towards Rajgir which is just 11Km from Nalanda and was the first capital of the kingdom of Magadha. Upon arrival, explore its striking attractions like Vishwa Shanti Stupa, Bimbisara Jail, Venu Vana, Jain Temples etc. After enjoying the whole day drive towards Bodhgaya and check into the pre-booked hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 07:- Bodhgaya –Varanasi
Next morning after breakfast visit the blissful Bodhi tree at Mahabodhi Temple complex where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. Then visit the Vishnupad Mandir, Thai Monastery, Royal Bhutan Monastery etc. After lunch drive towards Varanasi which is 215 Km from Bodhgaya. Day 08:- Varanasi- Agra
Next day early in the morning enjoy a boat ride at holy river Ganga. Then proceed for the day tour of Varanasi and visit its famous Ghats like Assi Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, Dhashaswamedh Ghat, Banaras Hindu University, Bharat Mata Mandir, Dhamek Stupa, Kashi Vishwanath Temple etc. In the afternoon enjoy a short excursion to Sarnath, the site where Lord Budha delivered his first sermon. Day 09:- Agra –New Delhi
Next morning after early breakfast enjoy a visit to the magnificent Taj Mahal, the white marble beauty that attracts visitors from all corners of the world. Later visit the Agra Fort, Itmad- Ud-Daulah, Moti Masjid, Guru ka Tal, Metab Bagh, etc. After enjoying a visit to all these attractions drive back to New Delhi.
